Commonly Asked Questions
Do you take insurance?
We are a private-pay practice.
This model allows Dr. Mike to provide unhurried appointments, thoughtful evaluation, and highly personalized care without the limitations often imposed by insurance plans.
We provide a detailed superbill that patients may submit to their insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Our focus is on delivering the highest standard of psychiatric care, with a level of access and continuity that insurance-based models often cannot support.
Can I use my insurance, because I need to use my insurance to pay for your services?
We understand that using insurance is important for many patients, and we want to be as helpful and transparent as possible.
Our practice is private-pay, and we do not bill insurance directly. This model allows Dr. Mike to provide a concierge-level experience with unhurried appointments, comprehensive evaluations, and a high degree of personal attention without the restrictions often imposed by insurance plans.
You can still use your insurance benefits by submitting a superbill (a detailed receipt we provide after each visit) to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
Many of our patients choose this approach because it allows them to receive the highest quality psychiatric care while still accessing reimbursement through their insurance when available.
How much will my insurance pay?
Since we are a private-pay practice and do not participate in insurance plans, your insurance company determines any reimbursement you may receive.
Many patients are able to obtain partial out-of-network reimbursement by submitting the superbill we provide after each visit.
Coverage varies depending on your specific plan, deductible, and out-of-network benefits. We encourage you to contact your insurance company directly. They can tell you exactly what they reimburse for out-of-network psychiatric service.
We are always happy to provide the documentation you need.
How should I understand Dr. Mike’s fees?
Psychiatric practices vary widely in how they operate, and this leads to very different fee structures.
Our practice is private-pay, which allows Dr. Mike to offer a level of time, attention, and clinical depth that simply isn’t possible in an insurance-based model. Instead of short, rushed visits, you receive unhurried appointments, comprehensive evaluations, direct communication, and a personalized plan tailored specifically to you or your child.
Many patients who are looking for the best value in their care find that this approach provides significantly greater clarity, continuity, and long-term results.
If you are seeking a psychiatrist who is fully engaged, accessible, and deeply invested in your treatment rather than one constrained by insurance limitations, this model may be an excellent fit.
Fees are available upon request, and we provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
How do you compare to other doctors, because I am just shopping around?
Our practice may be the right fit if you’re seeking a psychiatrist who takes the time to understand you, provides thoughtful and thorough care, and is consistently accessible throughout treatment.
Since we operate as a private-pay, concierge-style practice, Dr. Mike is able to offer unhurried appointments, direct attention, and highly personalized treatment planning without the limitations often imposed by insurance-driven models.
Every patient receives a level of care designed to be comprehensive, attentive, and relationship-based, with a strong emphasis on continuity, collaboration, and clinical excellence.
We encourage prospective patients to choose a psychiatrist whose approach, availability, and level of engagement align with their goals and expectations. If you value a high-standard, personalized experience with a double board-certified psychiatrist, we would be honored to support you.
Fees are available upon request, and we provide a superbill for patients who wish to seek out-of-network reimbursement.
How soon can you get me in because I am calling to see who can get me in the soonest?
We do our best to accommodate new patients as promptly as possible. Because we limit the number of patients we see, we are often able to offer timely appointments and maintain excellent continuity of care.
Availability can vary, but we will always make every effort to schedule your first visit as soon as possible and at a time that works well for you.
